About Valerie Bock

I cut through the technical red tape to help clients create top-quality social learning professional development experiences for their employees, accelerating their speed to proficiency.

I’ve made my career facilitating the effective incorporation of computer-based tools into work flow and learning.  I support adult learners and those who train them in corporate online communities of practice for informal social learning. I also create and facilitate structured online social learning environments, as well as high-performance collaboration spaces.  I am an observer of the corporate training market, with a special interest in health care. I share my insights in my blog.

I’m a passionate devotee of the social constructivist theory of learning, who thinks Alan Cooper got it exactly right when he included the strong urge “not to look stupid” among the primary human needs. I help people use the computer to connect with one another to look (and be!) smart.
